Liquid Waste Transfer Stations
Liquid waste transfer stations are used for the treatment of liquid waste streams. Liquid waste collectors off-load waste in a contained area where the water is separated for treatment. Sludges are treated with bulking agents like sawdust, pulp or Portland to meet ‘solids criteria’ and then shipped to various land disposal options. Some liquids are very difficult and time consuming using conventional water treatment and can cause bottlenecks in the process. The R-T-STM process can solidify these as well to further improve throughput.
BENEFITS OF R-T-STM
Lower Cost
- less waste to landfill which means lower trucking fees and tipping fees
- eliminate inefficient mixing with front-end loaders
- minutes to solidify – improving throughput and capacity on site
- reduced risk of transporting liquid waste material
Environmental
- not just adhesion to a bulking material but R-T-STM process produces a stable complex solid
- reduction in material to landfill by >100% by volume
- reduced carbon footprint by using fewer heavy trucks and less equipment
- less energy required
- improved encapsulation of contaminants
- meets regulatory requirements for leachable solids – TCLP and BTEX
Simple to use
- fewer steps to manage
- solidify difficult to treat and time consuming liquids
- operator friendly
- training and support through MetaFLO
- small footprint on site
